Products Details The new Pediatric Hip Abduction Spreader Bar by RCAI provides Adjustable abduction and adduction control of the hip when used in conjunction with the Bilateral Pediatric Hip Abduction Orthosis. The Pediatric Hip Abduction Spreader Bar attaches by aligning the holes on the medial aspects of the thigh lacers with the holes in the swivel brackets on each end of the Spreader Bar. Adjustable positioning is achieved by loosening the dial located at the center of the adjustment bracket, and sliding the bracket to the desired width. Place the adjustment pin into the corresponding hole and tighten the dial. It is not necessary nor intended that the dial be completely removed. Adjustment is achieved by simply loosening the dial 3 or 4 turns. The Pediatric Hip Abduction Spreader Bar is provided with a quick release feature for disengaging abduction when placing the child in a high chair or car seat. To release the Spreader Bar, pull up on the end dial of the swivel bracket on either side of the bar. This will disengage the bracket.
